Louie the Pug + Arthur the Boxer Mix | Beverly Hills Pet Photographer

The best gifts are the ones that are unique and that you would never think of getting for yourself. Ashley, was blessed with a pet photo session for her birthday from her big brother, and we had a blast photographing her two pups, Louie the pug, and Arthur the Boxer mix.

Louie was rescued at 2 years from a shelter in Georgia, and despite his innocent looking face, has gotten into more mischief than you can think of! With one example being where his food obsession led him to opening up all the Christmas presents one year (the family was not happy about that!). When he’s not getting into trouble, he spends most of the time sitting on the couch, sleeping or asking for cuddles.

Arthur is a super sweet Boxer/Pit mix, who was adopted as a puppy from a rescue in Chicago. Given his adorable perpetual puppy face, it’s no surprise that Ashley and Brad fell in love with him and had to bring him home. As you can probably tell by looking at his face, he’s on the more submissive side, but once it was “play with sticks” time, his “Jekyll” side emerged, given all his funny faces in the images, haha.

(Fun fact from this shoot: one person went through three outfit changes. It wasn’t me or Ashley 😂)

Odie + Fergus | Rochester Pet Photography

I first met Jerrie of Doggone Bandanas in 2013 when we were both vendors at a local PetFest. She had to leave her booth for a second, so I offered to watch it, as well as the three dogs she had at the time. Two unfortunately, have since passed, and with the addition of her newest pup, she decided it was finally time to get family photos taken.

Odie is a 13 year old terrier-mix, although you wouldn’t be able to tell by the way he plays ball. For an old man, he sure is sprightly! Fergus aka tater head (because let’s be real, he kind of looks like a potato, haha) is a Chihuahua mix of an unknown age due to being a rescue. They’re both super cute and sweet, and I could’ve spent all day just hanging out with them.

Jerrie and her pack often travel around the county selling bandanas at local fairs and pet events, so if you see them, be sure to stop by and say hi, as they’re all super friendly (and huggable! The pups, I mean. :p). While you’re there, also check out the many cute bandanas she has for sale. They’re all handmade and make for a great accessory! Oliver + Pancho | Modern Pet Photography

I’ve been told I must be an animal whisperer several times now. Is it true? It must be, because according to Kiersten, I’m one of a limited number of people that Pancho (the Chihuahua) allows to pet–which makes me feel super special. 😊

Secretly though, I think pets only like me because they can smell the yummy dog treats that I bring the instant I arrive, and by the time I leave, they’re like stuffed sausages. Happy stomach, happy heart? Amirite? :o

Oliver, Pancho’s partner in crime, was only too enthusiastic about having being photographed and couldn’t stop smiling and poking his face in my camera. Both pups were described as being “high-strung”, but honestly, all I saw were little bundles of fun!
