Cosmo the Chocolate Goldendoodle | Ohio Dog Photography

What do you get when you mix chocolate, golden retrievers, poodles, and the universe? Why, Cosmo the Chocolate Goldendoodle, of course! Okay, I had to make a bad joke, but don’t tell me you didn’t see that coming from a mile away. ;)

Just one week shy of his first birthday, Cosmo is an adorable Goldendoodle pup who has better hair than I do. (I mean, seriously, look at it. Aren’t you jealous?) Aside from having better hair than me, he is also more photogenic, so we spent a gorgeous evening photographing him in all his glory. He was so well-behaved and sweet for a puppy, I had a hard time believing his human when he says that Cosmo throws a “tantrum” when he’s gone on work trips for far too long. Tearing up bedrooms? Nahhh. But much love for his human? Yep, I can definitely see that. :)

Tank the Black Lab | Novi Pet Photography

I’ll give you one guess to how Tank got his name. If you said it was because he was chunky as a puppy, you would be right! So it was only fitting that we had our session at a gorgeous farm in Novi, where he could merrily bulldoze his way through fields of grass and down long gravel roads.

Although 11 years old, Tank still had lots of spunk and kisses to give during our session (see outtakes below, heh). Thank you Minnette for letting me in on such a beautiful place, and also, for capturing photos of your furbaby. Hope you love them! :)

Drinking with Dogs (Hosted by Canine to Five Detroit)

Can I say that Liz of Canine to Five Detroit is an absolute genius? Aside from starting the only doggy daycare in downtown Detroit ten years ago (which has since grown rapidly and is super successful; her start up story is truly inspiring), but she also came up with the idea of an event called “Drinking with Dogs” at various hotspots around the metro-Detroit area. What you say–alcohol and playing with cute pups on a gorgeous Michigan summer evening? Yes, please!

My friend Jenny (founder and creator of Exist Detroit, a website focused on sharing the stories of local businesswomen in Detroit–I hope to be featured on there some day! ;) ), her pup, Domino the Chihuahua (follow him on IG @dominothechihuahua. Oh, and while you’re there, follow me too! :D @katkuphotography), and I headed out to Campus Martius, which is located in downtown Detroit. It’s quickly become one of my favorite outdoor hangout spots in the area, especially with the greenery and fountain–so pretty!

There were soooo many cute pups at the event, and I had to resist the urge to scoop them up and take them home with me. So I just made do with taking their photos instead. Here are some of my absolute faves. I’ll refrain from posting all of them here, since I ended up with like 6o images and that would probably take up a crap load of time to download, but you can check out the rest of them here on my Facebook page/album.
