Odie + Fergus | Rochester Pet Photography
I first met Jerrie of Doggone Bandanas in 2013 when we were both vendors at a local PetFest. She had to leave her booth for a second, so I offered to watch it, as well as the three dogs she had at the time. Two unfortunately, have since passed, and with the addition of her newest pup, she decided it was finally time to get family photos taken.
Odie is a 13 year old terrier-mix, although you wouldn’t be able to tell by the way he plays ball. For an old man, he sure is sprightly! Fergus aka tater head (because let’s be real, he kind of looks like a potato, haha) is a Chihuahua mix of an unknown age due to being a rescue. They’re both super cute and sweet, and I could’ve spent all day just hanging out with them.
Jerrie and her pack often travel around the county selling bandanas at local fairs and pet events, so if you see them, be sure to stop by and say hi, as they’re all super friendly (and huggable! The pups, I mean. :p). While you’re there, also check out the many cute bandanas she has for sale. They’re all handmade and make for a great accessory! Check out Odie + Fergus wearing the cutest ones towards the end of this entry.
Pop-Up Studio @ West Elm: Birmingham, Michigan
This month is already coming to close, and it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down any time soon. My busiest year yet, needless to say, with all the sessions + editing + getting clients their orders before the holiday season, I don’t think any of my family and friends will be seeing me until next year (seriously, ha).
With that said though, I may be a crazy because I happily agreed to support West Elm’s Pet Holiday Photo Shoot that’s benefiting the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) despite my schedule. Okay, maybe not crazy, because it’s benefiting a good cause, right? : )
The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 6th from 6-8pm at the West Elm store in Birmingham, MI (215 W Maple Rd, 48009). I’ll be photographing (only) pets on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will receive a web-res image of your pet, with the option to purchase cards + other products–just in time for the holidays.
RSVP for the event here, and don’t forget to hashtag your photos from the event with #westelmxaspca. West Elm will be donating $1 for each tag to benefit the ASPCA! I’ll also be donating part of any proceeds from this event, as well. Super excited to be a part of this and can’t wait to see y’all!
(Due to the nature of the event, I would not recommend bringing any pets that have aggressive tendencies towards other pets or humans, or pets that are shy or easily stressed, as I will not have the extra time needed to get them to feel comfortable.)
