Whitney first contacted me in early 2015 about photographing her pup, Zoe. Originally from Michigan but now living in Chicago, it was a bit of a challenge figuring out a time that worked with both of our schedules to set up a session. So it wasn’t until last November 2016,  when she heard that I was coming to Chicago, that we successfully set up a time.

The weekend of, turned out to be absolutely crazy weather-wise! When I got into town on Thursday, the weather was super lovely and warm. By the day of our session, the weather had done a 180, and it felt like winter! Whitney, Eric, and Zoe were such troopers though, and we captured some of Zoe’s crazier expressions of her playing outside. I love the one of her and her folded frisbee–makes me think of lip fillers gone wrong, haha.

Since it was so cold out, we went back inside to take some other photos. I really do love at-home sessions. There’s something about being able to capture the intimacy of people with their pets in a familiar environment–and the soft lighting! Oh, and having subjects that aren’t shy about showing their affection for their furkid is always helpful, too. <3

As always, I had a hard time picking out my favorite images to share, just because we captured so many great ones! I will say though, that this first image of Zoe is one of my absolute faves. That soulful, sweet expression– I can see why they love her so much. Thank you Whitney and Eric; I hope you love these images of her!
