Mattee and Roger. You would think these names belong to someone of the male gender, but nah.
Mattee is a a 9.5 year old Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix, who was originally named Abby, but Erin (the human) had a neighbor who also had a dog named Abby. The neighbor kept on losing their dog and would yell “Abby”, which as you can imagine, would probably be very confusing. So to make things less so, Abby was then renamed to Madeline but goes by Mattee for short.
Roger is a rescue cat who was originally thought to be a male–until whoops, it was discovered the he was actually a she. Roger was named after some man’s ID that was found in the attic of the house that Erin was renting at the time (crazy, huh?), and given that Roger was found outside in the yard, it seemed meant to be. By the time her true gender was found out, it was too late and the name had already stuck. :o
Regardless of the confusion behind their names and genders, they’re both pretty cute. :)
